It works great. I had a new battery that I ran down and after a lot of cranking I got another bar on the battery indicator.It's for emergency and do not expect to completely charge the battery. In use you would crank it for 5 min and have about 5 min (depends on how your phone is set up) 5 min of emergency talk time. Since you're charging the phone battery you should be able to take a break. I would have the phone 'OFF' so all the charge went to the battery. I would hate to crank this for 5 to 10 min then have a 'spammer' call me using up battery power. I do NOT understand why the cranking LED is red. Personally I would prefer white and if really desperate have a crank flashlight to use as well as a phone charger. It works and fits in a small palm. The BEST safety is to have a spare charged battery but this... I have a 8 year old Nokia mobile phone for emergency use. Because I rarely use that phone, I often forget to charge it. So soon after getting this charger I had occasion to use it. And it worked great -- gave the phone enough of a charge to make a short call.If Amazon ever gets it back in stock I will buy a few more to give as "peace-of-mind" gifts to my family. |
